Three intrepid members journeyed to Williamsburg to see the Holiday decorations. There we met near the Post Office on Duke of Gloucester street and walked, talked along the promenade people watching and enjoying the many-colored Xmas swags.
Stopping at Chowning’s Tavern cider stand in hopes to sipping a piping hot cup. Three were ordered only to learn they were out of cider; so, we got brownies and cookies then walked a few doors down and got Hot Chocolate at the Ham shop which is where this photo was taken.
Later we enjoyed the Musket then the Retreat demonstration(s) at the Powder Magazine & Military Encampment near dusk. All in all, it was a fun day!
P.S. On a side note, parking was interesting as others had the same idea. Arriving early, Valerie scooped up a vacant spot at the Prince George (PG) garage and Agnes eagle-eyed a handicap spot close by.
On the other hand, Jay drew the short straw and after circling the PG garage twice noting that all 360 spots were filled, he maneuvered down the hill to the Visitor’s Center (VC) then took the shuttle to the Capitol building. Don’t get me started on getting back to the VC as the bus arrived at Merchant’s Square but nobody got off. So I walked back with another crew of nice folks. Definitely got my steps in.
