Cortina d'Ampezzo, the Queen of the Dolomites, is a gem of sheer beauty in the middle of the Italian Alps. Set in the wide Ampezzo Valley, it is surrounded by some of the most scenic peaks of the Dolomite mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Known for Alpine skiing, it's the perfect destination for winter sports enthusiasts, with slopes renowned worldwide.  In addition to alpine skiing, outdoor lovers can enjoy unforgettable experiences like ski touring and snowshoeing. In 1956, Cortina d'Ampezzo hosted the seventh edition of the Winter Olympic Games. 

It offers skiing among Stunning Scenery with some of the most breathtaking views you’ll find anywhere. With mountain backdrops and pristine, snow dusted forests, every run feels like a postcard that's come to life.

The Hotel des Alpes in Italy, specifically located in Cortina d'Ampezzo, is a family-run, 3-star mountain hotel with a history dating back to the early 20th century. It gained prominence after hosting the Finnish team during the 1956 Cortina Olympics and is currently managed by the Ghedina de Justina family, offering renovated rooms and a restaurant.

Off the mountain, it's not just for skiers!

• The town of Cortina d’Ampezzo is a symbol of exclusivity and fashion, an international showcase of Italian style which can be felt in particular in the central street, Corso Italia known throughout the world for its fashionable shops and art galleries.

  In winter, it is the capital of skiing, but not only that… you can practice all kinds of winter sports.

We'll be staying at the Hotel des Alpes.  This hotel is conveniently located a short distance from downtown Cortina shopping and restaurants. The guest rooms feature 2 Twin beds, coffee & tea maker, hair dryer, complimentary wireless internet access and full bath.  Amenities include an indoor hot tub, exercise facility, sauna and a restaurant with relaxing lounge to unwind after a hard day on the slopes.

The estimated Standard package price of the Cortina Trip (land only) is $2,252/person with double occupancy which includes:

• Round trip transfers from airport to hotel

• Free hotel shuttle and public bus stop at hotel
• One Meet and Greet Party

Details for Cortina (land-only) registrants who want to use the included Motorcoach transfer between Venice airport and Cortina:

• By November, information on the group's flight from Norfolk for the Cortina-Venice option will be shared with you so you can monitor our arrival status for any changes.
• By December 1, 2026, you need to inform the Trip Captain of your travel plans to and from the Venice airport.
• On February 27, 2026 you need to arrive at the airport by 9:50 am and proceed to the meeting location that will be shared in the trip Info Package prior to the trip.
• On March 6, 2026, the Motorcoach transfer will leave the Cortina hotel in the morning and arrive at Venice airport between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. Exact time will be determined in ~ November 2025 and communicated in the Info Package. The plan is to set an exact time that works best for the majority with flights leaving Venice that day.
• If you have a flight leaving Venice the following day, an option can be to join the group in Venice for the day and then stay at an airport hotel. A hotel that day and water taxi is not included.

Sold separately are two (2) optional add-on excursions (one w/airfare & another land only) to Venice, Italy

The estimated Additional package price of the Contina Trip with Venice excursion (land only) is $3,009/per person with double occupancy which includes:

$95 up to July 30, 2026; then greater of $95 or all nonrecoverable costs.

Note.  Online credit card payments through this site are limited to $1,500 per transaction. If your initial deposit or subsequent scheduled payment exceeds this amount, you must pay by check. Depending on the options selected, you may be able to reduce payment amounts below the limit by registering each family member separately.
