Ski Trips - 2020

The sign-up deadlines for our 2020 ski trips have passed, but Trip Captains are sometimes able to accommodate late registrations on a case-by-case basis. If you are still interested in one our trips for this season, please contact the Trip Captain directly to determine availability.

For the 2020 ski season, we have five trips lined up, one to Colorado (Winter Park), one to British Columbia (Big White), two in the East (Snowshoe and Mount Snow), and one to Japan (Hakuba Valley). Click on the individual trip listings below for additional details and links to the trip flyers. Also, please review the policy section at the bottom of this page before signing up for trips.

Registration for our 2020 trips opened on May 9, 2019 and is first-come first-serve, either online, by mail, or in person at a club meeting. Winter Park and Hakuba Valley are full with waiting lists. Snowshoe, Mount Snow, and Big White still have plenty of space available.

The price of the Mount Snow trip has been reduced as of 09/25/19 and certain features (ski race, ski storage) have been eliminated. Group lessons are still available, but as an extra cost option.

In a break with our usual practice, the Big White trip does not include air transportation. By having participants arrange their own air, they can take advantage of airline code sharing agreements to fly directly into Kelowna, BC, thereby reducing the cost and avoiding a long bus ride. Please consult with the trip captain before making your airline reservations for this trip.

The Snowshoe, Mount Snow, Hakuba Valley, and Big White trips have been sanctioned by the Blue Ridge Ski Council and are open to members of other BRSC-affiliated clubs as space permits. If you are from another BRSC club and are interested in one of these trips, please contact the respective Trip Captain as indicated in the listings below. We offer a special no-cost BRSC Affiliate membership to make it easier for you to participate in our sanctioned trips.

A $25 early sign-up discount applies to the Snowshoe and Winter Park trips for registrations which occur before October 1, 2019. For Mount Snow and Big White, the early sign-up discount has been extended through Oct. 10, 2019. The registration deadline for Hakuba is the same as the early sign-up date, so no discount applies for that trip. Please be aware of the sign-up deadlines and payment schedules associated with each trip. Depending on the circumstances, it may not be possible to join a trip after the sign-up deadline, even if it is not full.

Four of our destinations this year are eligible for multi-resort passes. The ten resorts in the Hakuba Valley allow up to 5 days of skiing (sufficient for our trip) with either an Epic or Epic Local pass. Mount Snow is on the Peak Pass, which includes primarily resorts in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic; the attractively priced Peak Traveler pass would suffice for our four-day mid-week trip.  And, new for the 2019/2020 season, Mount Snow is also on the Epic Pass.  Snowshoe and Winter Park allow unlimited skiing with either the Ikon or Ikon Base passes. In addition, those who sign up for our Winter Park trip and purchase an Ikon pass through our tour operator will receive a discount toward the trip. Contact the Winter Park Trip Captain for details.

Early Sign-up Discount

Trip prices are discounted by $25 if the initial deposit and any currently due payments are received before October 1. Payments by mail will be considered received as of the postmark date.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Membership dues are non-refundable and all payments are final.

Payments for ski trips are subject to the following cancellation fees:
  1. $5 for trips priced at $100 or less.
  2. For trips priced over $100, (a) $25 if cancelled up to the date of the September meeting, or (b) $50 if cancelled after the September meeting date and before the stated refund cutoff date for the trip, or (c) if cancelled after the stated refund cutoff date, the greater of (i) the club's unrecoverable costs or (ii) $50.
  3. Individual trips may establish higher cancellation fees which will be noted in marketing materials for the trip.
  4. Certain items purchased in conjunction with trips (e.g., season or multi-resort passes) may be non-refundable regardless of the cancellation date.
Fees for other club activities are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.

By signing up for a club activity, the participant agrees that the club is not liable for refunds for circumstances beyond its control, including, but not limited to, travel disruptions due to weather, lack of snow at destination resorts, civil unrest, pandemic, etc. In such circumstances, the club will make reasonable attempts to recover whatever funds it can and return them to affected participants. The club recommends that participants purchase travel insurance to cover contingencies. A trip participant also acknowledges that the club, consisting of unpaid volunteers, makes its best efforts to arrange trips suitable to the members, but makes no guarantees or warranties of any kind.
