Peninsula Ski Club will join several other clubs from our region for the Blue Ridge Ski Council's 2024 Western Carnival trip to Heavenly Ski Resort at Lake Tahoe. With 4,800 acres of skiable terrain, Heavenly is the fifth largest ski area in North America. If you like blue cruisers, Heavenly might feel like heaven, with 60% of the terrain rated as intermediate. It is also known for its tree skiing, although beginner and expert terrain is limited. At just over 10,000’, the top elevation is not as extreme as many western ski resorts, making altitude adjustment a bit easier. And then there are those spectacular views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountains!
But if skiing or snowboarding is not your thing, there are plenty of other attractions to keep you occupied.
Lake Tahoe and the surrounding area are an outdoor playground with a wide range of winter activities, including snowmobiling, sledding & snow tubing, hiking & snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. If you’re more into the indoor scene, there are plenty of bars, shops, and restaurants, plus around-the-clock casinos just a few blocks away on the Nevada side of town.
We'll be staying with a few other BRSC clubs in 2-bedroom condos at
Forest Suites Resort, located in Heavenly Village just a short walk from the gondola base. The remaining clubs will be staying nearby at Harvey's Casino in Stateline, Nevada.
The estimated package price of $2,255 includes:
- round-trip airfare from Norfolk, VA to Sacramento, CA via Denver
- charter bus between Sacramento and Heavenly, incl. gratuities
- 7 nights condo lodging (double occupancy, 4 persons per condo)
- baggage handling at Forest Suites
- 2 BRSC après-ski events and a farewell dinner
- 1 PSC après-ski social
Bonus: With sufficient interest, the Council hopes to offer optional day trips to Kirkwood and/or Northstar (both Epic resorts) for just the price of a bus seat.
Lift tickets are not included; you must purchase your own Epic pass in advance.
Refund cut-off date: October 12, 2023
$25 discount for sign-up by Sept. 30, 2023.
All prices are good faith estimates and may vary depending on the number of participants and other circumstances beyond Peninsula Ski Club's control.
